Rice – 1 cup
Soya granules – 3/4 cup
Onion - 1, medium
Tomato- 1 ½ , medium
Carrot – 1, finely chopped
Green peas – ½ cup
Green chilli – 1 or as per taste
Ginger powder – 1 tsp
Coriander powder – 1 ½ tsp
Turmeric powder – 1/3 tsp
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Oil – 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Water – 2 cups
1. Heat oil in pressure cooker and add cumin seeds. Once it crackles, add finely chopped onion and green chilli.
2. Add little salt and fry onion till soft and light brown. Add carrot and green peas, saute for 2 min.
3. Add finely chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, ginger powder and coriander powder. Fry for 3-4 min, or till the tomatoes are soft and done.
4. Add rice and fry for 1-2 min. Add soya granules and fry for another minute.
5. Add water and salt. Pressure cook on high heat. After first whistle, lower the heat. Switch off after second whistle. Let the pressure release on its own.
6. Serve hot.
