Chicken - 1 kg
Onion - 2-3
Tomato - 3 (diced)
Capsicum - 1 (diced)
Ginger - 1"
Garlic -1 pod
Green chillies - 3
Jeera sabut - 1 tsp
Kali mirch - 1 tsp
Dhaniya seeds - 1 tsp
Vegetable oil - 2 tbsp
Butter - 1 tbsp
Salt - 1 tbsp or to taste
Masala Powder:
Haldi powder - 1 tbsp
Red chilli powder - 1 tbsp
Jeera powder - 1/2 tbsp
Kali mirch powder - 1/2 tbsp
Dhaniya powder - 1/2 tbsp
Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
1. Heat oil and butter, add sabut jeera, kali mirch and dhaniya seeds.
2. Grind ginger and garlic with hand grinder and add to the oil.
3. Add chicken and fry for 3-4 minutes.
4. Add diced tomatoes, all the masala powder and salt.
5. Cook on low heat with lids on and stirring occasionally.
6. After 10-15 minutes when you feel that chicken is cooked, add green chillies and onions cut in big chunks lengthwise and stir.
7. After 5 minutes add capsicum and stir.
8. Reduce the water released by chicken and fry it till it is little dry as it tastes good then.
9. Serve with nan, roti or rice.
