Jackfruit (Kathal - कटहल) - 500 gm (peeled and cut to 1" pieces)
Aaloo - 250 gm (peeled and cut to 1" pieces)
Onion - 250 gm (chopped)
Tomato - 2 (chopped)
Mustard Oil - 3 tbsp
Salt to taste
Phoran (फोरन):
Cumin Seeds (Jeera) - 1/4 tsp
Bayleaf (Tejpatta) - 2
Greean Chilli - 1
Masala:
Ginger-Garlic Paste - 2 tbsp
Dhaniya Powder - 1 tsp
Jeera Powder - 1 tsp
Haldi Powder - 1/2 tsp
Garam Masala Powder - 1 tsp
Red Chilli Powder - 1/2 tsp
1. Wash kathal and aaloo pieces separately, and keep aside.
2. Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Add jeera.
3. When jeera starts crackling, add tejpatta, green chilli and onion.
4. Fry till onion turns to pink colour. Add tomato and all the masala.
5. Fry for 5 mins and, add aaloo, kathal and salt.
6. Fry for 10 mins first on high heat and then on medium heat.
7. Add 1 cup water and cook under pressure for 5 mins or till done.
