Masoor Daal - 200 gm
Onion - 2 (medium, chopped)
Ginger Paste - 1 tsp
Garlic Paste - 1/2 tsp
Lawang (cloves) - 3
Chhoti Ilaichi (green cardamom) - 2
Daalchini (cinnamon) - 2"
Garam Masala Powder - 1/2 tsp
Green Chilli - 2 (slit)
Dhaniya Patta - 2 tbsp (finely chopped)
Ghee - 2 tbsp
Water - 500 ml
Salt to taste
1. Wash masoor daal and leave it for 30 minutes.
2. Heat ghee in pressure cooker. Add lawang, ilaichi, daalchini and onion.
3. Fry till onion turns light pink.
4. Add ginger and garlic pastes, and fry for 1 minute.
5. Add daal and fry for further 5 to 7 minutes.
6. Add water, salt and pressure cook.
7. Sprinkle garam masala powder and add green chillies and dhaniya patta.
8. Remove from heat and serve with chapati.
