Tamatar Ki Meethi Chutney

Tomato Chutney (Sweet)

Ingredients

Tomato (red and ripe) - 500 gm
Paanch Phoran* - 1 tsp
Cooking Oil - 1 tbsp
Red Chilli - 2
Sugar - 6 tbsp
Salt - 1 tsp

Method of Preparation

1. Wash and cut tomatoes in small pieces.
2. Heat oil in a Kedahi. Add paanch phoran and red chilli.
3. When paanch phoran sputters, add tomato and salt.
4. Stir and cook covered on low fire.
5. When fully cooked and there is no excess water, add sugar and cook for 2 minutes.
6. When sugar completely dissolves, remove from fire, cool and serve.

Notes & Tips

1. *Paanch Phoran is a mixture of mangraila, ajwain, methi, rai and saunf in equal proportions.
