 Ingredients

Arbi - 250 gm
Methi Seeds - 1/2 tsp
Red Chilli, Whole - 1 or as per taste
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
Mustard Oil - 2 tbsp
Lemon Juice - 1 tsp
Salt to taste

 Method of Preparation

1. Peel the arbi, wash thoroughly and pat dry.

2. Cut the arbis in round slices, thickness approx. 2-3mm.

3. Heat oil in pressure cooker, add methi seeds and allow it to crackle.

4. Add red chilli and then add the sliced arbi. Fry in oil for 2-3 minutes.

5. Add salt and turmeric and stir for another 1 minute.

6. Add 1 cup water, mix and close the cooker lid. Pressure cook till 2 whistles or till done.

7. Once done, add lemon juice and mix. Serve hot with paratha/puri.

 Notes and Tips

1. Amount of water can be reduced or increased as per desired consistency of the gravy.

2. This is my grandmother's recipe. It was our favourite breakfast curry during childhood days. We relished it with puri.
